The field notes

What to come here for.

The number to carry into a boarding conversation at Ridgetop is $1,925. Its service page lists $1,325 for board and a minimum $600 training program. Reading only the boarding line would miss a material part of the monthly commitment.

This structure makes the farm a more relevant inquiry for someone who wants an ongoing program than for an owner shopping solely for a stall. The separate $2,500 training-board option includes four to five services weekly. Those are different arrangements, so ask for the schedule, definition of a service and treatment of missed weeks before choosing between them.

Our reading of the offer

Compare Ridgetop as a boarding-and-training program. Its base boarding price is only part of the decision.

A zero additional commitment in the planner means no separate requirement was identified on the reviewed pages. It is still a question to confirm with the farm.

Lessons & getting started.

$100 beginner or evaluation lesson

The introductory private appointment is one hour. Ongoing lesson prices depend on format and whether you ride your own horse or a farm horse. Ask how the ten-week lesson sessions work for a new arrival.

School-horse status: Mounted school-horse lessons. An advertised service does not establish a current opening or a suitable match.

Facilities & daily care.

  • Daily stall cleaning and bucket care
  • Turnout with boots and blankets as needed
  • Multiple hay and grain feedings
  • Training services quoted separately from base board

These are operator descriptions. The list is selective and does not establish every inclusion in a boarding contract.

Three useful questions.

  1. Which services would my $600 minimum buy in a typical month?
  2. What happens to training charges during injury, travel or a missed lesson?
  3. Which riding areas are usable through winter, and when can boarders use them?
