The field notes
What to come here for.
Whimsy Brook separates schoolmaster riding from unmounted instruction on its lesson menu. That is helpful for a rider seeking a specific kind of appointment: an hour learning from the ground should not be booked in the expectation of an hour riding.
The published mounted lesson rates are a substantial commitment, so be precise about the proposed instructor, horse and format. A newcomer should also settle the equipment question before arriving because the farm says riders need their own helmet. Boarding requires a separate quote and discussion of the individual horse’s routine.
Our reading of the offer
Choose the exact lesson format before booking. The mounted, unmounted and boarding offers are separate decisions.
The boarding arrangement.

$1,399 stall · $1,099 shed; confirm billing terms
The accommodation page lists these prices without an explicit billing interval in the reviewed text. Request the current monthly quote and complete inclusions before budgeting.
A zero additional commitment in the planner means no separate requirement was identified on the reviewed pages. It is still a question to confirm with the farm.
Lessons & getting started.
$219 / private mounted hour
The published schoolmaster rate is $219 for an hour or $143 for a half hour. Unmounted private instruction is priced separately. Riders must supply their own appropriate equestrian helmet.
School-horse status: Mounted school-horse lessons. An advertised service does not establish a current opening or a suitable match.
Facilities & daily care.
- Schoolmaster lessons in hunt seat, dressage and Western riding
- Private and semi-private formats
- Separate mounted and unmounted prices
- Stall or run-in shed board; heated tanks for shed paddocks
These are operator descriptions. The list is selective and does not establish every inclusion in a boarding contract.
Take these to the farm
Three useful questions.
- Which horse and instructor are proposed for my first mounted lesson?
- How much of the appointment is mounted, and what preparation is expected?
- What turnout and daily-care services would a boarding quote include?
