The field notes
What to come here for.
Windstar makes an unusually useful distinction for a new rider: an hour at the barn is not automatically an hour in the saddle. Grooming, tacking up and putting a horse away belong in the lesson. That gives a beginner a more honest way to compare its program with a shorter mounted session elsewhere.
Boarding is a separate conversation. The farm publishes information about indoor and outdoor riding, individual all-weather turnout and seasonal grass, but it does not offer a public monthly boarding tariff. Start with the evaluation if you need a lesson horse. If you own a horse, ask about the boarding arrangement before assuming that lesson enrollment opens a stall.
Our reading of the offer

The boarding arrangement.

By individual arrangement
Boarding is considered case by case. Request the complete care and lesson quote.
A zero additional commitment in the planner means no separate requirement was identified on the reviewed pages. It is still a question to confirm with the farm.
Lessons & getting started.
$100 initial evaluation
A one-hour evaluation starts the conversation. The published beginner private lesson is $95, with roughly half the hour mounted and half spent on preparation and care. Rates are dated June 1, 2026.
School-horse status: Mounted school-horse lessons. An advertised service does not establish a current opening or a suitable match.
Facilities & daily care.
- Indoor and outdoor riding areas
- Individual dry-lot turnout; grass fields used seasonally
- Nineteen stalls across the main and outer barns
- On-site owner and tack storage
These are operator descriptions. The list is selective and does not establish every inclusion in a boarding contract.
Take these to the farm
Three useful questions.
- What parts of the beginner lesson happen before and after mounted work?
- What would the actual turnout schedule be for this horse in winter?
- Does a boarding offer require a minimum lesson or training schedule?
